SestuGO
About
Just outside Cagliari, in Sestu in the province of Cagliari in Sardinia, SestuGO sits in the city's outer ring on the Campidano plain. The site is easily reached from central Cagliari and the SS131, which makes it a regular stop for Cagliari residents after work, for southern Sardinia motorsport regulars and for holiday-makers staying along the south-eastern coast.
On the outdoor track, drivers can lap on a layout suited to adults and experienced drivers, in the open Campidano setting. Several engine sizes are available, with higher-powered karts for regulars used to timed sessions. Conditions follow the Sardinian Mediterranean climate: drier and faster in summer, more demanding on windy maestrale days. The site hosts enthusiast sessions, motorsport-focused stag and hen groups, corporate events and regional championships.
Sestu is fifteen minutes from central Cagliari, fifty minutes from Carbonia and an hour and a quarter from Oristano. The region offers plenty more to see: Cagliari's historic centre and the Castello quarter, the Bastion of Saint Remy, the Roman amphitheatre, Poetto beach and the Sella del Diavolo (Devil's Saddle) headland, the nuraghe of Barumini Su Nuraxi (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) one hour away, or a side trip to the beaches of Chia, Tuerredda and Pula on the south-western coast. Karting in Sestu is a sport-oriented option for Cagliari drivers fifteen minutes from the centre.
