Action Center
About
In Västervik, on the east coast of Sweden, the Action Center offers an open-air karting track within an activity centre, open from April to October. The outdoor layout, pleasantly undulating, is driven in the open air in a natural setting, near the Karstorp green area. It is an outing built for groups and families, combining karting with other activities such as paintball, archery tag and bumperball.
Karting stays open to all, with no licence or experience: a briefing, a helmet, and you head off to find your best lap. The format suits beginners as much as regulars out to race, and the variety of the centre's activities lets you extend the day on site. People come to race their friends with the timer running, and happily come back to beat their time. As the activity is seasonal, it is best to check opening times and book before coming.
Västervik is a pretty coastal town in south-eastern Sweden, nicknamed the pearl of the east coast, tucked at the heart of a vast archipelago. Its old centre with wooden houses, its harbour and the islands reached by boat make it a popular summer destination. The town is also known for its great music festival, held each summer in the ruins of Stegeholm castle, by the water. The region is reached by road from Kalmar or Linköping, along a rugged and unspoilt coastline.
