Borlänge Hyrkart

In Borlänge, at the heart of Dalarna, Borlänge Hyrkart lays out eight hundred and twenty-two metres of open-air track, one of the longest rental karting layouts in Sweden. You drive petrol karts here, on a course that leaves real chances to overtake and to build up speed, far from small urban tracks. The length of the circuit makes it a real playground for thrill-seekers.

Karting stays open to all, with no licence or experience: a briefing, a helmet, and you head off to find your best lap. The length of the layout delights beginners as much as confident drivers out to test themselves against the clock, and groups happily set up close races. Pricing comes by the session, and people happily come back to beat their time. As the activity takes place outdoors, it is best to check opening times by season before coming.

Borlänge is one of the main towns of Dalarna, the most emblematic province of traditional Sweden, famous for its red-painted wooden horses, the well-known Dala horses. Close by, the town of Falun and its great copper mine, UNESCO-listed, gave the country its typical red colour, Falun red. Lake Runn, the homes of the artist Carl Larsson and the landscapes of lakes and forests round out the discovery. Borlänge is easy to reach by road or rail from Stockholm, in about two and a half hours.
