CsepelRing Gokart

On Csepel Island, south of Budapest, CsepelRing offers two complementary layouts: a covered track of about three hundred metres, drivable whatever the weather, and an outdoor track of about two hundred metres, more demanding. You drive Honda petrol karts of different power outputs, from the 6.5-horsepower starter model up to machines of over 11 horsepower able to top 70 km/h, reserved for adults.

Karting stays open to all, with no licence or experience: a briefing, a helmet, and you head off to find your best lap. The presence of suitable karts, from 1.30 m, makes it a venue open to families, while the fastest delight confident drivers. Beyond the track, there is a racing simulator, billiards, air hockey and a pinball machine to extend the evening. People come to race their friends and happily return to beat their time, under cover or in the open air.

Csepel Island stretches along the Danube south of Budapest, in an area marked by its industrial past and its large workshops. Well linked to the centre by the HÉV suburban railway, it puts the capital's must-sees minutes away: the neo-Gothic Parliament, Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge and the great thermal baths such as Széchenyi and Gellért. Budapest, crossed by the Danube and UNESCO-listed for its riverbanks, has a thousand discoveries once the race is over.
