In Raseborg, on Finland's south coast, the Grabbskog track is run by the Ekenäs-Tammisaaren MK/UA club, founded in nineteen fifty-eight. It is an outdoor circuit kept going by the volunteers of a local motorsport association, which opens the track to karting in regular sessions. You drive here with the feel of a country club rather than a commercial leisure centre, which gives the place a plain, genuine character.

Karting slots run at set times depending on the season, most often on Thursday evenings in summer and around midday on Saturdays in winter, when volunteers are on hand. Prices stay modest, with per-session entry and seasonal passes, and access is free for the youngest: a setup meant to bring in families and beginners. Raseborg, which takes in the old town of Ekenäs (Tammisaari), is a bilingual Swedish-Finnish municipality set by the archipelago. The area is known for its wooden lanes, its indented coastline and its islands, best explored by boat in summer. Between runs on track, it is a quiet corner of the coast that invites you to carry on the stroll along the sea. About an hour and a half from Helsinki along the coast, it is an easy sporting stop to pair with a day exploring the Raseborg area and its archipelago.
