Kartcenter Grimma

Kartcenter Grimma runs a complex that combines a covered track and an open-air track on the same site, at Südstraße 80, in the Muldental, near Leipzig. The two layouts chain technical and dynamic corners, in a set-up that brings together indoor and outdoor. The fleet is split into two categories: standard karts for beginners and experienced drivers alike, and more powerful Superkarts for drivers looking for more pace.

On site, individual sessions sit alongside full track hire for groups and events, an in-house karting school, the organisation of birthdays and private events, a mobile track available for off-site activities and a cup and trophy shop. The track is closed on Monday, open Tuesday to Thursday 3pm to 9pm, Friday until 10pm and at weekends 11am to 8pm or 10pm depending on the period; during the school holidays, it opens Monday to Thursday 11am to 9pm and Friday to Sunday 11am to 10pm. Grimma lies in the Muldental, the valley of the Mulde, 30 km east of Leipzig, 60 km north-west of Chemnitz and 100 km west of Dresden. Leipzig, a musical and literary metropolis, keeps the Thomaskirche where Johann Sebastian Bach was cantor, its university founded in 1409, one of the oldest in Germany, and its Bach and Mendelssohn museums. The ruin of the Cistercian abbey of Nimbschen is 5 km to the south, Wurzen and its Gothic cathedral 20 km to the north, the Saxon Switzerland National Park and its sandstone formations 80 km to the south-east, and Dresden, with the Frauenkirche, the Zwinger and the Semperoper, 100 km to the east.
