Karting des Fagnes

In Mariembourg, in the Couvin area in the south of the province of Namur, Karting des Fagnes lays out one of the longest open-air karting circuits in Europe, with a layout of one thousand three hundred and sixty-six metres. The fleet counts about fifty hire petrol karts, SODI RT8s of three hundred and ninety cubic centimetres, with power that can be limited remotely for the youngest. It is a genuine international track, hosting top-level events.

Running since 1987 and maintained daily, the venue does not live on tourism alone: it also holds major competitions and welcomes seasoned drivers training on a long, demanding layout. A panoramic terrace of more than two hundred seats and a cafeteria overlook the circuit, with a large free car park and a mobile app for bookings and results. The whole thing aims at groups on a day out as much as at hardened racers.

Mariembourg and Couvin lie in the Fagne, on the edge of the Namur Ardennes, a region of forests, rivers and stone villages. Nearby, the Three Valleys steam railway links Mariembourg to Treignes, and the Viroin valley draws nature lovers. Karting des Fagnes adds a leading open-air destination, which draws karting fans well beyond the region in search of a big circuit.
