Karting Leiria
About
In Milagres, near Leiria in central Portugal, the kartódromo run by the NDML is one of the country's great tracks: an outdoor layout of one thousand and six metres set on a vast green estate. Homologated by the Portuguese federation at the highest level and recognised by the FIA for international events since 2000, it offers up to seven different configurations, in sprint or endurance format. It is a true racing circuit, wide and fast.
Karting stays open to everyone, no licence or experience needed: a briefing, a helmet, and off you go chasing your best lap. The variety of layouts and the length of the track reward those who polish their lines, and the site welcomes seasoned drivers as well as groups giving it a try. Opened in 1994, the kartódromo runs to the rhythm of training, rentals and major national races. For hours and access terms, it is best to check before coming.
Leiria is a town in central Portugal, crowned by its medieval castle perched on a hill, at the heart of a region of pine woods and plains. The great state forest of Pinhal de Leiria, planted in the thirteenth century, stretches to the Atlantic and its beaches. Nearby, the highlights of Fátima, Batalha and Nazaré, with its giant waves, make the region a popular destination. Leiria is easily reached by the A1 motorway, halfway between Lisbon and Porto.
