Roskilde Racing Center

In Roskilde, on the island of Zealand, the Roskilde Racing Center lays out an open-air karting track of one thousand two hundred and fifty metres, set at Tjæreby south of the town. You drive recent SODI RT10 karts, fitted with weight balancing so the racing stays fair between drivers of different sizes. The long outdoor layout, full of tight corners, leaves real room for overtaking.

The venue puts forward a genuine racing experience, on a circuit open from late March to late November, by day and in the evening depending on the season. People come for hire sessions, races among friends and group outings, with the chance to drive on a full-size layout rather than a small indoor track. Booking is advised, especially at weekends.

Roskilde is a historic town at the head of its fjord, world-famous for its summer music festival, its cathedral listed as world heritage that holds the tombs of the Danish kings, and its Viking ship museum. About thirty kilometres from Copenhagen, it is easy to reach by train. The Roskilde Racing Center adds a large open-air circuit, one of the longest in this part of Zealand, prized by fans of real racing. You book your session online, and the large layout draws groups on a day out as much as drivers coming from Copenhagen to drive on a real open-air circuit. The season runs from spring to autumn, with evening driving as the days grow longer.
