Rotax MAX Dome Linz
About
In Linz, the Rotax MAX Dome bills itself as the world's first Rotax arena dedicated to electric karting. The five-hundred-metre indoor track runs over two levels, up to eight metres wide, and passes through a fifty-metre tunnel alive with interactive virtual elements. You drive Rotax SONIC electric karts connected by wifi, with a boost function that releases extra power on demand.
The arena is not limited to the track: across its three thousand six hundred square metres, it brings together gaming areas, racing simulators, a virtual-reality snowmobile simulator and a lounge to catch your breath between runs. A race in sport mode lasts about ten minutes, and packages let you string sessions together. It is a modern, complete outing, sheltered in all weather.
Linz, the third city of Austria, stretches along the Danube, between its Lentos art museum and the Pöstlingberg hill climbed by a little train. The city, both industrial and turned towards digital creation, is not short of outing ideas. The Rotax MAX Dome adds a dose of new-generation electric motorsport, welcome for an active afternoon by the river. By betting on connected electric karts and a tunnel packed with virtual effects, the Rotax MAX Dome pushes indoor karting towards gaming and high technology, which makes it an outing prized by families and thrill-seekers alike, a stone's throw from the centre of Linz and the banks of the Danube.
