Circuits de Soucy

In Soucy, near Sens in the Yonne, the Sens Espaces Karting lays out its outdoor tracks homologated by the French motorsport federation. The venue, active since the nineteen-sixties, has a full fleet: six two-hundred cubic centimetre children's karts, twenty one-hundred-and-twenty-five Rotax Max, forty two-hundred-and-seventy adult karts, plus a two-seater, all with petrol engines. Enough to put every age on the right machine.

The driving school welcomes children from the age of six, and the track opens from Wednesday to Sunday, morning and afternoon. This longevity and the variety of karts make it a real hub of motorsport for the region, open to beginners as well as seasoned drivers out to race among friends or in competition. People come to string laps together on the asphalt, in a setting devoted to racing.

Soucy lies in the north of Burgundy, a short way from Sens and its Saint-Étienne cathedral, one of the first great Gothic cathedrals in France. The region, between the Yonne valley and grain plains, lends itself to escapes. The Sens Espaces Karting adds a dose of traditional motorsport there, on the edge of the Île-de-France and Burgundy.

The presence of Rotax karts and competition models makes it a playground prized by seasoned drivers, while the school and the children's karts open the activity to families. Booking is advised at busy hours. In northern Burgundy, between the Yonne valley, the forests and the villages of character, the region offers plenty to extend the day after the laps.
