Veszprém Karting

In Nemesvámos, right by Veszprém, in Transdanubia, Veszprém Karting lays out about seven hundred metres of open-air track. The length of the layout makes it a genuine sporting course, with real chances to overtake and to build up speed. You drive petrol karts here, a short distance from the city of queens and about twenty minutes from Lake Balaton, which makes it a fine outing between heritage and nature.

Karting stays open to all, with no licence or experience: a briefing, a helmet, and you head off to find your best lap. The length of the track delights beginners as much as confident drivers out to test themselves against the clock, and groups happily set up close races. Pricing comes by the session, and people happily come back to beat their time. As the activity takes place outdoors, it is best to check opening times by season before coming.

Nemesvámos is a village south of Veszprém, known for its large Baroque inn, one of the finest csárda in Hungary. Veszprém, nicknamed the city of queens because the queens were crowned there, charms with its perched castle, its Baroque lanes and its great viaduct, and was European Capital of Culture in 2023. Lake Balaton and the Tihany peninsula, with its abbey, are about twenty minutes away. The region is reached by road from Budapest, a little over an hour away, for an escape at the heart of Transdanubia.
