De Vries Indoor Karting

In Heerenveen, in Friesland, De Vries Indoor Karting is a covered track that stands out for its two-level layout, with deep corners and demanding sequences that make it one of the most technical tracks in the region. Around five hundred metres long, it is aimed at drivers ready to take on a real circuit, in a large hall sheltered from the weather of the northern Netherlands.

Access is from age fifteen and a height of one metre sixty, which makes it a track aimed more at adults and seasoned teenagers. You drive in open heats or in Grand Prix style formats, from mini to super Grand Prix, with practice, qualifying and a final. A dining area with visual effects overlooks the circuit and lets you follow the races, handy for groups and companions.

Heerenveen is a Frisian town best known for speed skating, with the famous Thialf rink that hosts international competitions, and for its football club. The region, flat and dotted with lakes, is typical of Friesland. De Vries's covered track adds a sporting activity open all year, away from the ups and downs of Dutch weather. The track draws enthusiasts from the region and beyond, after a layout tougher than average. Heerenveen is easily reached by motorway from the north of the country, which makes it a handy sporting stop for an indoor outing, away from the changeable coastal weather.
