Faßberg Karting

Faßberg Karting is run by the MTC, the Motorsport-Club of Faßberg, a motor sport club based in the Lüneburg Heath. The track works mainly as a training and practice ground, with a clear focus on youth competition through the Jugend-Kart-Slalom.

The club offers practice sessions on its Kartbahn, a youth kart-slalom programme and training aimed at children. Registration goes through the Training Anmeldung form, and the season's training calendar is published on the club website. Faßberg lies in the south of the Lüneburg Heath, 50 km south-east of Celle and 30 km south-west of Uelzen, near the former Fliegerhorst Faßberg air base, which served the Berlin Airlift in 1948-49. The Lüneburger Heide turns mauve in August and September, one of Germany's most recognisable landscapes. Celle lines up 400 half-timbered houses and a Guelph Renaissance castle; Lüneburg, 80 km to the north-east, keeps its old town built on salt; Uelzen surprises with its station redesigned by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Hannover is 75 km to the south-west and Hamburg 130 km to the north.
