Flugplatz Go-Kart-Bahn Peenemünde

Flugplatz Go-Kart-Bahn Peenemünde sets its open-air track on the former Peenemünde airfield, at the northern tip of the island of Usedom, on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The setting, a wide airfield, gives a kart session an open and unusual backdrop.

Peenemünde lies at the northern tip of the island of Usedom, where the Historical-Technical Museum, housed in the former power station, is the village's best-known landmark. The island of Usedom, the second largest in Germany, mainly lines up the beaches of the Drei Kaiserbäder, Heringsdorf, Ahlbeck and Bansin, with their Belle Époque seaside architecture. The long Ahlbeck pier reaches out over the Baltic, and the Polish town of Świnoujście marks the border at the eastern end of the island. Greifswald, birthplace of the painter Caspar David Friedrich, is 35 km to the south-west, Stralsund and its UNESCO-listed brick Gothic old town 60 km to the west, the island of Rügen and its Königsstuhl cliffs 80 km away, and Berlin 220 km to the south.
