G1 Gokart - World Mall

On the Pest side of Budapest, G1 Gokart sets up its covered track in the World Mall shopping centre, on Szentmihályi Avenue. The sheltered layout can be driven whatever the weather, which makes it an easy outing all year, to combine with a shopping trip. It is the indoor counterpart of the same brand's outdoor Budaring track, a way to drive in the dry when the weather outside is poor.

Karting stays open to all, with no licence or experience: a briefing, a helmet, and you head off to find your best lap on the covered layout. The presence of suitable karts makes it a venue open to families, while adults happily set up short races among friends. Everyone tries to set the best time, and people happily come back to beat it. The quarter, in the north-east of Pest, is a modern area well linked to the rest of the city by public transport. Budapest, crossed by the Danube, lays out its must-sees minutes away: the neo-Gothic Parliament, Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge, Andrássy Avenue and the great thermal baths such as Széchenyi. The Hungarian capital, one of the finest in Europe and UNESCO-listed for its riverbanks, is worth several days on its own once the race is over.
