Kartbahn Brookmerland

Kartbahn Brookmerland runs an open-air facility in Upgant-Schott, in the Brookmerland, in East Frisia. The site stands out for its two separate tracks: a layout for young beginner drivers and another, longer one, for experienced adults. This double set-up makes it possible to bring together a multi-generational outing without mixing levels on the same track.

On site, karts suited to all ages sit alongside a dedicated kids area, and the venue takes professional events and private parties, with light catering, drinks, coffee and snacks. The track opens Thursday and Friday 3pm to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 6pm, and public holidays 11am to 6pm. Upgant-Schott lies in the Brookmerland, that former marsh region of East Frisia, 15 km west of Aurich, 30 km north of Emden and 50 km south-east of Norden. East Frisia keeps its traditions alive, starting with its famous tea ceremony, and opens onto the North Sea. Norddeich connects by ferry to the Frisian islands of Juist, Norderney, Baltrum, Langeoog, Spiekeroog and Wangerooge, the village of Greetsiel lines up its twin windmills and its fishing harbour, and the Wadden Sea, UNESCO-listed, unrolls the largest tidal area in the world. Emden and its Kunsthalle are nearby, and Bremen, UNESCO-listed, 90 km to the south-east.
