Kartbahn Knatterdrom

Kartbahn Knatterdrom runs a complex that combines a covered track and an open-air track, for a total of 900 metres of driving on a 10,000 m² site, in Greven, in the Münsterland. This mixed set-up makes it possible to drive in all seasons: the covered track takes over when it rains or in winter, while the outdoor track offers fresh air in fine weather.

On site, a fleet of adult karts sits alongside a Kinder-Kart fleet for children from age 8 and 1.30 m, rounded out by a 50-metre counter restaurant, sunny terraces, ponds laid out as educational biotopes and a slide for the youngest. The track is closed Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday to Friday 4pm to 9pm, Saturday 12pm to 8pm and Sunday 12pm to 6pm, with Kinder-Kart sessions on weekdays 4pm to 6pm and at weekends 12pm to 2pm, plus special openings on public holidays. Greven lies in the Münsterland, that hedge-lined countryside marked by moated farms, 15 km north of Münster and 80 km south-west of Bremen. Münster, UNESCO-listed for the memory of the Peace of Westphalia of 1648, lines up its Renaissance Prinzipalmarkt edged with arcades, its Saint Paul cathedral and its astronomical clock, and unrolls the Promenade, a 4.5 km pedestrian and cycle ring on the former ramparts. The Münsterland route of 100 castles passes nearby, the Nordkirchen castle, nicknamed the Westphalian Versailles, is 35 km away, the Burgsteinfurt one 20 km to the north-west, and Osnabrück 60 km to the north.
