Kartcenter Emsbüren

Kartcenter Emsbüren runs an outdoor layout at Schmiedestraße 14, in Emsbüren, in the Emsland, right by the Dutch border. The fleet covers three uses: RT8 karts for standard adult sessions, new-generation VT250 karts that reach 120 km/h, reserved for adult drivers, and a welcome for private karts for owners of competition chassis. The site works bilingually in German and Dutch, because of the cross-border traffic with the Overijssel province.

On site, a restaurant provides catering, helmets and overalls are provided, and the venue welcomes families and groups, organises rental meetings, children's birthdays, team races and rounds of the international Sodi World Series. Rates start at 17.95 euros for a 10-minute race, with a Karting Unlimited formula at 59.95 euros for three hours in a row. The track opens Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm, closed Monday and Tuesday, true to its motto that karting is practised outdoors.

Emsbüren lies in the Emsland, 15 km south-west of Lingen, 40 km north-east of Rheine and 50 km east of the Dutch Twente border. Lingen, a Hanseatic town, is home to a campus of the University of Osnabrück and the EmslandArena, the Bentheimer Wald stretches on both sides of the border, and Bad Bentheim keeps its castle and its sulphur spas 25 km to the west. Osnabrück, shaped by the Peace of Westphalia, is 60 km to the north-east, Münster and its UNESCO-listed Prinzipalmarkt 80 km to the south-east, and the Dutch Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park 60 km to the west.
