CartCenter Miesitz runs a 450 m karting track at Ortsstraße 3 (07819 Miesitz), in a small village at the centre of Thuringia. The layout links a straight with several chicanes and offers good grip, so speed and technique alternate from lap to lap.
The track opens on Friday from 4pm to 10pm and Saturday from 2pm to 10pm, by reservation; for groups of at least eight people the venue also opens outside these hours. Children may drive from age 10 and a height of 1.40 m, with parental consent for minors. The programme includes birthdays, stag parties, corporate events, plus event hosting and catering on request; the kart engine sizes and exact rates are given in the Preise und Angebote section. Miesitz lies at the centre of Thuringia, 25 km south-east of Jena and 50 km south-east of Erfurt. Jena is known for the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität founded in 1558, the Carl Zeiss optical museum and its planetarium, the oldest in the world, opened in 1926. Weimar, UNESCO-listed for the legacy of Goethe and Schiller, with its Bauhaus Museum and the Anna Amalia Library, is 50 km to the west. Erfurt, 50 km to the north-west, shows the Gothic Mariendom and the medieval inhabited Krämerbrücke. Add to that the Saalfeld fairy grottoes, the romantic Saale valley and the wooded Thuringian Forest.
