Kartbahn Jena

Kartbahn Jena runs an outdoor layout at Wiesenstraße 104, in the Saale valley, in Jena. The fleet lines up 6.5 hp petrol Rimo karts, backed by a digital timing system for rental sessions and in-house races. The venue plays both leisure and training, with a Kartführerschein, a supervised driving introduction, at 70 euros, and a Kids Cup, a competition for young people, at 40 euros per race.

On site, Apex Timing displays the times live for participants, and reception is by booking, by phone or WhatsApp on +49 3641 470195. The track is closed Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday 3pm to 6pm, Thursday and Friday 3pm to 8pm, Saturday 12pm to 8pm and Sunday 12pm to 6pm. Children access the track through the Kids Cup, whose minimum height and age are confirmed directly, and the detail of adult rates, track length and maximum number of karts does not appear on the home page.

Jena is the second city of Thuringia, around 110,000 inhabitants, a historic university centre and a world capital of precision optics. The city is home to the Carl Zeiss headquarters, founded in 1846, and the Zeiss planetarium, the oldest planetarium still in service in the world, opened in 1926. The JenTower rises 144.5 m above the old town, the Saale draws its Saalebogen bend between the heights of the Landgrafen and the Jenzig, and the Friedrich Schiller University, founded in 1558, saw Schiller, Hegel and Fichte teach there. Weimar and its German classicism, UNESCO-listed, are 25 km to the west, Naumburg Cathedral, UNESCO-listed, 60 km to the north, and Erfurt 50 km to the west.
