Karthalle Wittlich

Karthalle Wittlich runs a covered track of 2,800 m² with race-cut asphalt and a fleet of recent SODI karts, in Wittlich, between the Eifel and the Moselle. The venue plays leisure, competition and training, with Race formulas calibrated for groups and a karting school for children.

On site, a bistro provides catering, the karting school supervises young people with an in-house licence, and the venue organises birthdays, group and corporate events, with timing per session and a mobile app to book and track your times. On rates, the 14-minute single-seater costs 22 euros, the Fun Race 25 comes to 224 euros and the Mega Race 50 to 360 euros from eight people, and full hire at 800 euros an hour. The track is closed Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday and Thursday 5pm to 9pm, Friday until 10pm, Saturday 11.30am to 10pm and Sunday 11.30am to 7pm, with extended hours during the holidays. Access is from age 10 with a karting licence, or from age 9 depending on the courses, and 1.30 m.

Wittlich lies between the volcanic plateaus of the Eifel and the Moselle valley, 50 km east of Trier, 60 km south-west of Koblenz and 100 km west of Mainz. The Vulkaneifel, a UNESCO-listed geopark, lines up its Maare, those crater lakes, including the Pulvermaar and its 74 m depth. Bernkastel-Kues and its medieval village on the Moselle are 25 km to the south, Trier and its Roman Porta Nigra UNESCO-listed 50 km to the west, Koblenz and the meeting of the Rhine and the Moselle 60 km to the north-east, and Luxembourg 100 km to the south-west.
