Pallas Karting
About
VerifiedIn Tynagh, near Loughrea in County Galway, the Pallas Karting lays out two open-air tracks: a large circuit of one thousand five hundred metres, presented as the longest karting track in Europe, and a family and beginners' layout of five hundred metres. On the large circuit, the Sodi SR5 karts of thirteen horsepower reach ninety kilometres per hour; on the family track, the BIZ Evo 3 of six and a half horsepower run up to fifty-five. Active since nineteen ninety-five, it is an institution of Irish karting.
The centre is not limited to karting: it also offers paintball from the age of fourteen, splatball from ten and a driving school. It welcomes groups, stag and hen parties, corporate outings and schools. The length of the large layout and the variety of karts suit beginners taking their first laps as well as seasoned drivers after speed, on one of the longest circuits on the continent.
Tynagh lies in the east of County Galway, a short way from Loughrea and its lake, in a countryside of meadows and hills bordered by the Slieve Aughty mountains. The region, at the heart of Connacht, lends itself to nature escapes. At the heart of County Galway, the Pallas Karting adds a dose of open-air motorsport, in the warm season.
