Prejmer Raceway
About
In Lunca Câlnicului, near Brașov, the Prejmer Raceway lays out one of the finest outdoor circuits in Romania: one thousand two hundred and fifty metres of asphalt, eight to ten metres wide, with a straight of one hundred and seventy metres and fifteen corners, seven left and eight right. Laid out to the standards of the International Automobile Federation on seventeen hectares, along national road eleven, it offers a real speed playground.
The length and width of the layout leave room to launch the karts, work through the sequences and refine your lines as on a full circuit. A live timing system tracks performance, and the track hosts leisure outings as well as rounds of the Romanian Rotax Max championship. It is a benchmark address for anyone who wants to drive seriously in the region.
Brașov, one of the finest towns in Transylvania, watches over at the foot of Mount Tâmpa, and the neighbouring village of Prejmer holds a Saxon fortified church listed as world heritage. The Carpathians and Bran Castle are not far off. The Prejmer Raceway adds a dose of high-level motorsport to this tourist region in the centre of the country.
Beyond leisure running, the circuit hosts competitions and company events, making the most of its large area and its facilities. It is easy to reach from Brașov by the national road, which makes it a simple trip to organise. All around, the fortified church of Prejmer, the city of Brașov and Bran Castle make up one of the finest tourist ensembles in Romania.
