Tor24.pl
About
At 917 metres, Tor24 was once the largest karting circuit in Poland, and it remains a benchmark in Upper Silesia. The outdoor asphalt track runs all year and has seen plenty of faces since it opened in 2000, from rally champions to touring bands. Driving is combustion-powered, on around twenty karts split into several categories.
The fleet covers every profile: from 160 cc engines for beginners to 390 cc reserved for confident drivers, by way of the Junior, Profi and Racer classes. The youngest are welcomed from six years old in the Mini class, which makes the outing a family affair. The length of the track leaves real chances to overtake and hunt for the best line.
Zabrze, at the centre of the Silesian conurbation, is famous for its mining heritage: the historic Guido mine, which you visit down to 320 metres underground, is its showpiece. Katowice and its Spodek arena, along with the UNESCO-listed Tarnowskie Góry silver mines, are a few minutes away, in a region that has turned its industrial past into a tourist draw. Gliwice, with its famous wooden radio tower, the tallest of its kind in the world, is a few minutes away, and the region is easy to cover by car, ideal for a weekend blending heritage and motorsport.
