BattleKart Dankern

BattleKart Dankern sits inside the Ferienpark Schloss Dankern, a long-established family holiday village, at Am Flugplatz 1 (49733 Haren an der Ems) in the Emsland. The BattleKart concept relies on single-seater electric karts and on projections that turn the floor and walls of the hall into interactive playing fields: instead of a fixed layout, the scenery changes from one game to the next.

A game lasts fifteen minutes and is played by up to twelve people at once. No minimum age applies, but drivers must be at least 1.45 m tall. Prices fall with each round: the first game costs 24 euros per person (22 in a group), the second 21, each one after that 18. The track opens Monday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday until 8pm, Sunday again until 6pm, with adjusted hours during the school holidays. For health reasons the activity is not advised for, among others, pregnant women, pacemaker wearers and people with epilepsy or severe back and neck problems. Haren an der Ems is in the Emsland, 25 km south of Meppen and around 90 km west of Bremen, close to the Dutch border. On site, Schloss Dankern and its holiday park shape the surroundings: a former aristocratic castle set around a lake, a beach and activities, one of the largest family parks in Germany. 25 km north-west, the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg builds some of the largest cruise liners in the world. The Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park is UNESCO-listed, and just over the border lie the Netherlands, with Groningen and the megalithic tombs of Drenthe. Bremen and its listed old town are 90 km away, Osnabrück 80 km to the south.
