Karting Emmen

In Nieuw-Weerdinge, in the province of Drenthe, Karting Emmen occupies the Pottendijk circuit, an outdoor track of about one thousand and fifty metres. The fleet counts twenty-eight recent SODI electric karts, fitted with lap timing, and the layout lines up a long straight along with banked corners that build up the speed. The track is floodlit for evening driving, and two-seater karts let you take a passenger along.

The place works like a real open-air centre: individual hire, the option to drive your own kart, races and courses, but also supermoto and pit bike for two-wheel fans. An arcade and a catering area round off the visit, and birthday, corporate and clinic packages are arranged on site. The venue changed owners in early two thousand and twenty-six and still welcomes Sunday drivers and groups alike.

Nieuw-Weerdinge is a village in the peat colonies of south-eastern Drenthe, a region shaped by peat cutting, where the villages line up along straight canals. Nearby, Emmen is home to the large Wildlands wildlife park, and the province is known for its hunebedden, the prehistoric dolmens set out on the heath. Karting Emmen adds a dose of outdoor motorsport to this quiet setting, in a corner of the Netherlands where space is not in short supply and where the track has room to stretch out.
