BattleKart Dissen

BattleKart Dissen is housed in the Eventcenter Dissen, at Heidländer Weg 37 (49201 Dissen am Teutoburger Wald), a leisure complex at the foot of the Teutoburg Forest in Lower Saxony. The Belgian concept pairs single-seater electric karts with floor and wall projections: the track itself stays neutral, and it is the projected image that creates the layout and the game elements, which vary with the mode chosen.

Play takes place in groups of two to twelve people, each session lasting fifteen minutes. There is no minimum age, provided drivers are at least 1.45 m tall. The track opens Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 8pm, Friday from 4pm to 10pm, Saturday from 10am to 10pm and Sunday from 10am to 8pm; it closes Monday and Tuesday, when bookings remain possible on request. Dissen sits at the foot of the Teutoburg Forest, 25 km south-west of Osnabrück and around 100 km north-east of Münster. The massif is held to be the site of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in the year 9, where Arminius defeated Varus' Roman legions; the Hermannsdenkmal near Detmold marks it with a statue more than 53 m tall. Close by stand the Externsteine, a striking row of sandstone rocks. Osnabrück, where the Peace of Westphalia was partly negotiated in 1648, draws visitors with its old town, while Bielefeld is 50 km east. Münster, with its town hall, the Prinzipalmarkt and the promenade ringing the centre, is 100 km away.
