Go Kart Naxos Greece

On Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades islands, Go Kart Naxos lays out the longest karting track in the archipelago: a nine-hundred-metre open-air layout, seven to nine metres wide, lined with around fifteen karts. The fleet covers engines from one hundred and sixty to two hundred and seventy cubic centimetres, in two- and four-stroke, enough to suit beginners and drivers looking to push the pace alike. You drive under the Aegean sun, on a track that leaves room to attack the long bends.

The track sits on the Galanado road, about five kilometres from Naxos Town, the lively Chora by the harbour. It is easy to reach by car or scooter, for a few heats with family or friends. A light snack area and a shaded car park let you catch your breath between sessions, away from the summer heat. The width of the layout allows overtaking and gives a real taste of racing, without the intimidating technicality of competition circuits.

Naxos is known for the Portara, the huge marble doorway of an unfinished temple of Apollo that watches over the harbour entrance, and for its long sandy beaches such as Agios Prokopios and Plaka. The mountainous interior, with its marble villages and olive groves, contrasts with the seaside bustle of the coast. A karting session is welcome here to vary the fun, between two days on the beach and exploring the island.
