Kartbahn Schwarzbach

Kartbahn Schwarzbach runs an outdoor layout in Auengrund, on the southern slopes of the Thuringian Forest, with a renewed fleet of RiMO ALPHA² karts, the latest-generation model from the German maker RiMO. The venue works seasonally, open from 28 March to 3 October 2026, in line with the open-air karting calendar in the region.

On site, there is the recent RiMO ALPHA² fleet, helmet hire and sale at 5 euros, and a welcome for groups from 6 people, for whom booking is advised. The track is closed on Monday, including during the school holidays, and opens Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and bridge days 11am to 6pm; in summer, from 4 July to 14 September, it also opens Tuesday to Friday 2pm to 6pm. Auengrund lies in the Hildburghausen district, in southern Thuringia, at the foot of the Thuringian Forest, 15 km south-east of Hildburghausen, 40 km south-east of Suhl and 90 km south of Erfurt. The Thuringian Forest unrolls its 1,320 km² crossed by the Rennsteig, a 169 km historic ridge trail, one of the oldest waymarked paths in Germany. Hildburghausen keeps its ducal castle, Coburg and its Veste fortress are 30 km to the south-east, Eisenach and the UNESCO-listed Wartburg 60 km to the north-west, Suhl recalls its gunsmith tradition, and the Bavarian Rhön and its Wasserkuppe open 80 km to the west.
