Kartbahn Winterberg - Niedersfeld

Kartbahn Winterberg runs an outdoor layout of about 980 metres at Am Eschenberg 2, in Winterberg-Niedersfeld, at the heart of the Sauerland. The fleet offers two configurations: rental karts for individual driving and a two-seat Twin Kart formula that allows driving in a parent-child pair or in a guided introduction.

The complex includes a paintball ground, at 40 euros per person for two hours, and offers combined karting and paintball formulas for birthdays and group events; exclusive track hire starts at 350 euros for two 15-minute sessions, from ten people. On karting rates, expect 12 euros for the 8-minute solo session, or 35 euros for three sessions, and 12 euros in a Twin Kart, plus 2 euros for a helmet. The hours vary widely by season, from a few openings in May and June to wider slots in July and August, and the minimum age is confirmed directly.

Winterberg and Niedersfeld lie in the Hochsauerlandkreis, at the heart of the Rothaargebirge, 60 km south-east of Dortmund, 80 km west of Kassel and 80 km north-east of Cologne. Winterberg is home to the oldest Olympic bobsleigh track still in use in the world, opened in 1936 and still used for world championships, as well as a large ski area and a rail toboggan. Willingen and its Mühlenkopf ski jump, a World Cup stage, are 20 km to the north-west, the Kahler Asten, the Sauerland's highest point at 841 m, overlooks the region, and the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, with its UNESCO-listed beech forests around the Edersee, Germany's third-largest reservoir, opens to the east.
