Karthalle Coswig

Karthalle Coswig runs a covered track with an elaborate geometry, in Coswig, in the Elbe valley, between Dresden and Meissen. The layout chains technical corners and several overtaking zones, with signal lights and computerised timing. The venue stands out for an inclusive approach: a kart specially fitted for drivers with a motor disability, the third case of its kind seen in the region after Heiligenstadt and Erfurt.

Coswig lies in the Meissen district, in the Elbe valley, 10 km north-west of Dresden, 20 km south-east of Meissen and 110 km east of Leipzig. Meissen is the town of European porcelain, born in 1710, and keeps the Albrechtsburg, one of Germany's first Renaissance residential castles, and its Gothic cathedral. Dresden lines up the rebuilt Frauenkirche, the baroque Zwinger, the Semperoper and the Grünes Gewölbe treasure, 15 km to the south-east. Saxon Switzerland and its sandstone formations, the Moritzburg hunting castle and the Karl May museum in Radebeul round out the region.
