Kartbahn-Lohsa UG

Kartbahn-Lohsa runs a karting site at An der Kartbahn 1, in Lohsa, in Upper Lusatia, at the heart of the Lausitzer Seenland, that lake landscape born from the conversion of former open-cast lignite mines. The venue welcomes individual drivers, groups and events, and posts its photos in an online gallery.

On site, the welcome for groups and events is rounded out by an active social media presence, and booking is done by phone. From spring to autumn, the track opens Friday 11am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 8pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm, closed Monday to Thursday, with possible variations during the school holidays. Lohsa lies in the Bautzen district, in Upper Lusatia, 25 km north-east of Bautzen, 60 km north-east of Dresden and 90 km south-east of Cottbus. The Lausitzer Seenland is the largest artificial lake landscape in Europe, formed between 1971 and 2018 by reflooding former open-cast mines: 23 lakes linked by navigable canals, including the Bärwalder See, Saxony's largest lake, and the Geierswalder See and its panoramic island. Bautzen, a historic town of the Sorbian people with its leaning tower and its fortified old town, is 25 km to the south, Görlitz and its UNESCO-listed old town 50 km to the east, and Dresden, with the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger, 60 km to the south-west.
