Kartodromo Athens Kart

In Afidnes, at the foot of Mount Parnitha in the north of Attica, Kartodromo Athens Kart lays out an open-air karting track along the old Athens national road, about thirty kilometres from the centre. The venue runs rental karts of three hundred and ninety cubic centimetres, recent and fast machines, on an outdoor layout open to seasoned drivers and families alike. There is a café and a shop, and children have their own academy on Sundays.

This is a genuine motorsport address, with a busy programme: an endurance championship, Iron Man-style races and night sprints under the floodlights. The track opens every day, from ten in the morning to ten at night on weekdays and until eleven at the weekend, so a session is easy to fit in. People come to lap for fun or to take on the clock, solo or in a group.

Afidnes lies in the countryside of northern Attica, between the Parnitha massif and Lake Marathon, about forty minutes from Athens and its Acropolis. The area, greener and quieter than the capital, serves as a starting point towards the beaches of the north coast. Kartodromo holds a reference spot for karting fans of the Athens region, on one of the most active circuits in the country.
