Speed Park

In Aspropyrgos, west of Athens, the Speed Park has run karts in the open air since 1986, which makes it one of the oldest addresses in the region. The venue offers petrol karts of two hundred and seventy cubic centimetres for rental, and electric BlueShockRace karts within its academy. Children are welcome from the age of seven, on a track built for learning as much as for leisure.

The Speed Park is not limited to rental: it runs a real driving academy, with sixteen-week cycles twice a year, and hosts races, events and birthday parties. Sessions spread mostly over the late afternoon and the weekend, and booking is done online. Nearly four decades of activity make it an institution of karting in western Athens.

Aspropyrgos lies on the Thriasian plain, by the gulf of Eleusis, a short way from the ancient site of Eleusis and its famous mysteries, one of the great sanctuaries of ancient Greece. The area, industrial and dockside, stays easy to reach from Athens and Piraeus. The Speed Park adds a dose of open-air motorsport, well rooted in the region's leisure scene since the nineteen-eighties. Between its academy cycles, its electric karts for first steps and its petrol rental karts, the Speed Park covers the whole range from leisure to improvement, which explains its longevity since the mid-eighties in the west of the Athens area.
